Charles Bragner

Head Coach Charles Bragner began coaching track in 1996 to give back to the track community that helped his son stay on the right path during high school and obtain a scholarship to Baylor University.

Coach Bragner learned how to coach by playing an active role as a parent of a student athlete and continuing to volunteer after his son graduated and went to college. He realized early on that the successful student athlete is first and foremost a successful student, and this concept creates the foundation for academic mentoring for all Xtreme Force student athletes.

Today, Coach Bragner is one of the top 400m coaches in the nation. Previously, he coached with other clubs in the Central Texas area including the Austin Striders, Central Texas Elite, and San Antonio Blazers where he helped to develop both state-ranked and nationally-ranked athletes. His passion and commitment to academic excellence has enabled numerous student athletes obtain scholarships to top universities because of their performance both on and off the track.

Coach Bragner is a member of the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic selection committee for the state of Texas. The Great Southwest T&F Classic is an annual invitation only track and field competition for the best high school track and field athletes from throughout the southwestern states.  He is also certified with the USA Track and Field organization (USATF).

As a retired member of the U.S. Air Force, Coach Bragner gives his student athletes structure and guidance that helps them be successful in school, and he gives them a chance to do something great on the track. Coach Bragner’s relationship with his student athletes doesn’t end after graduation. He continues to check in with former club members who are enrolled in college to help provide guidance.

Coach Bragner envisions the principles of Xtreme Force extending beyond track and field student athletes to reach other students as well.
